Mitigating a DDoS Attack
Status Screen
The Status screen is the home screen of your DDoS Mitigation Portal. It displays any Ongoing Alerts and any Ongoing Mitigations for your public IP addresses.
Note
Ongoing Alerts are triggered by abnormal traffic
Starting a Mitigation
- Navigate to Mitigation > Threat Management
Note
You will find one TMS Mitigation Object already created with all your IP addresses and any custom countermeasures that you requested already configured.
- Click on the name to open it
Note
Mode - This can be set to Active to filter traffic or Inactive to simulate the filtering of the traffic.
Note
Start To route your protection prefixes through the DDoS Mitigation System.
- Now you need to check that the correct Countermeasures are enabled.
Note
Any countermeasure can be switched on or off as required. Example: Enabling 'TCP Connection Reset'
